The habit of perceiving all Malevich’s works in only one style - “cubism” - is destructive. He, like all creative geniuses, skillfully mastered different styles. He could paint a landscape, as the marine painter Aivazovsky did more than once, Picasso also changed his style of work more than once and also painted landscapes. At us, among the modern public, the artist is strictly associated with the “Black Square” and upon seeing this picture many will be surprised that it belongs to Malevich’s brush.
Although if you take a closer look, it’s just possible to mistake the author without a mistake. There is something here from Cubism, and at least clear lines of fields. And the very concept of "wheat" is not clearly drawn here. And the women are strange, with some unimaginable figures. Where are they to the classic Venus. But even through a purely symbolic definition of faces and through statics, one can feel how hard these portrayed women are working. And do not look at the primitiveness of the picture or the absence of the usual landscape realities for us.
The artist remained true to himself and did not determine the place and action. And he didn’t even change his style of writing, he simply created a slightly different work, not in his genre, but leaving his own style. They say that he created it for a bet. But these are only legends. By the way, it is worth paying attention that here the work is not overflowing with color, even bright colors are somehow muffled.
It was difficult for Malevich to live in real space; he rather survived than lived. But still, his fame is still booming throughout the world, and his canvases have become so expensive that quite a few proceeds can be purchased with the proceeds. Even such incomprehensible images are now very expensive. The same "Harvest" has long been estimated at several hundred thousand dollars. The artist’s canvases are not only in private collections, but also in state museums in Russia and Europe.
